With COVID-19 throwing us all for a loop, many weddings planned for this spring and summer have been postponed or canceled 🙁 BUT some couples just can’t wait to be married so they opt for a public-safety-approved backyard wedding. Backyard weddings and elopements are becoming the new normal for brides-to-be in 2020 and I am here for it 10000000%
Backyard weddings and elopements aren’t for everyone (and that is totally ok!!). Many couples are opting to wait until they can have the party of their dreams surrounded by all their friends and family. But, as I have now shot a couple of “backyard” weddings, I have grown to love them! There is something so special about the quiet, intimate moments you can have in a slower, less-busy day.
One of the many couples opting for this backyard setting are newlyweds Madison and Kenton McFarlane. Madison’s family has been one of my favourite clients over the years as I shot 2 senior sessions and now a wedding for them and every single shoot has been a party. These two pulled together a family backyard wedding back in March and it was absolutely the cutest thing you have ever seen I promise.
First, their home was decked with adorable decor
A neon sign is a 11/10 recommend
If you wanna make your quarantine wedding a bit more accessible you can live stream!! The McFarlane’s used Facebook live and had family members on FaceTime
Backyard weddings really shine in the ceremony itself. Madison and Kenton had their pastor officiate the wedding and he was cracking all kinds of jokes but that didn’t stop the tears of joy 🥺
Even with a storm coming in… there is always time for bridals 💍
A COVID reception means facetiming speeches
Thanks for scrollin’ and congrats Madison and Kenton 🥰
